About Our Doves

We raise well cared for White Doves from white racing pigeon stock, which are also known as Rock Doves or Columba livia.

The word 'dove' is actually used symbolically to describe these white homing pigeons, as there is very little difference between them.     The word dove conjures the image of a lifetime pairing that symbolises love, peace, harmony, unity, luck and happiness.   These birds have been used for centuries spanning not only time but continents and religions giving the same meaning to all.

After our birds are released they circle to gain their bearings, using, it is thought magnetic fields, along with a keen sense of hearing, sight and smell to guide them home.     Whilst it seems natural for these birds to fly 'home', we spend many hours training them on progressively longer flights to learn to do this well, to give them the best possible chance of using these skills, as all athletes in their own speciality field do.        

We think a lot of and care for the welfare of all our birds, so will not allow under any circumstances sending our birds untrained, nor unsupervised on self-releases, as this is cruel.  

We are members of the Royal Pigeon Racing Association and the International White Dove Society.
